Stunning shot K! It must be quite a life for the villagers to live surrounded by those beautiful, mighty mountains... :)

That looks even dreamier now with some Life in the pictures.

Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures with us. I like the way the mountains are shouldering up to the clouds. The setting for the village is magnificent.

So peaceful...

What i wouldn't give to live in a place such as this!

This shot actually looks very similar to some areas here in Brasil. Unfortunately, i am stuck in a metropolis - but i try to escape as often as is possible. :)

Nice shot!

The lushness of green is serene and the gentle human touch of agriculture seems poetically balanced with the landscape. Lovely village!!

Could one hike across your country fairly easily? It looks like the scenery abounds with beauty.

George,
Yes, the setting for this village is absolutely marvelous!

Rainfield,
True, it is faraway from the chaos of the city!

Amaris,
Oh really, post a photo or two of those places if and when you get a time to escape out of the city :)
Love to see those places..in Brasil.

Betsy,
‘Clouds hugging the tops of the mountains..’ - One of my favourite too :)

Sharodidndu,
Yep, I don’t think there are many places on earth better than this to live a peaceful lofe!

Loshini,
Yes that exactly what we did on those fields. :)

Carol,
Yes, this is the most serene village I have seen in Sri Lanka so far :)

Josh,
Thanks..:) It was a cloudy day and we climbed a mountain close by on the same day.. The latter part it started raining and we were drenched with water by the time we returned ..yet it was fun!

Natural Moments,
Yes it is not difficult to hike across the country. Sri Lanka is a medium scale island. East to West it is about 300 km (Colombo to Sangamankanda Point), North to East about 500km (Point Pedro of North to Point Dondra of South).. Quite minor figures compared to your Pacific Crest Trail. :D I have not personally done any of those full journeys across the island but it will be an enthralling journey across different climates / vegetation / geographies / people and cultures. I have this in mind and let you know when I am planning to do it :)

Anastasia,
Yep lovely greenery everywhere around this village!

N,
Thanks!

Thanks a lot for all for your wonderful comments!!!

I think that the low, gray skies really add a lot to this scene. It's simply beautiful!
