This creature had one of the best camouflage suits I have seen for some time.
The photo was taken at the beach near Negombo.

Trail

This picture was captured somewhere close to Negombo. A few kilomtres from the main airport of Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, an epic Trail, which was started on the 1st of July has now completed two thirds of its journey. It is a walk right across Sri Lanka to collect US$ 2million to build a Paediatric Cancer Ward in Jaffna Hospital.

Flowers along the Negombo Road

Colombo - Negombo Road is one of the busiest roads in Sri Lanka. You may see this beautiful sight along this road, amidst heavy traffic, especially during the month of May (The month of flowers). Interestingly the red flowers are called Mai mal (May Flowers)

In this little stretch I saw trees covered with red flowers as well as yellow. I thought it was as colourful as the stretch along the Kandy Road during the months of February and March.

Sunset on the Beaches of Negombo

Sri Lanka is famous for its golden beaches. A stroll along the beach in the evening is always refreshing.

Allthough beaches all around the island are brilliant, the best beaches for a hiker would be the ones in the eastern coastal belt. The more famous western and southern beaches are good for an evening walk or for just rlaxation.

The setting sun paints one of the most colourful sights only seconding to Northern lights - Aurora.
