Rikilla Ella

Rikilla Ella is a tall waterfall. To my estimation it must be in the range of 250 -300 feet. Although less water in it, the waterfall looks much better during rainy seasons.

This was captured during my visit to Dedugala. It is about 5km from Bulathkohupitiya Town. As I mentioned earlier, there are quite a few waterfalls along this road. The imposing rock and the silver color waterfall is a striking spectacle for all those who travel along this road.

Beautiful! :D This waterfall reminds me so much of Bambarakanda! :)

Evelyn,
Yes it is a big one and the falls become quite spectacular after rain!
Thanks for your comments!

Chavie,
Yep..I too felt the same when I saw it first. Compared to Bambarakanda, this waterfall is virtually unheard of..
Thanks for your comments!

This big one maybe very dangerous during continuous heavy downpours, but gorgeous.

Beautiful falls, K.... We are in North Carolina now seeing new waterfalls. We saw some HUGE rocks today which looked a little like the rock you posted. However, ours didn't have a waterfall coming over the top.

Thanks..
Betsy

You frame this waterfall very beautifully! Must be a fabulous walk with other falls to see along the way. Carol

Rainfield,
Yes, it won't be a good idea to stay below the falls during rainy days.

Betsy,
Great to hear that..Hope we will see your new findings soon in your blog! Happy waterfall hunting!

Carol,
Yes, it was a fabulous journey! This is how I saw it from the road..thro' the foliage..

I think this is a great waterfall. A waterfall doesn't have to have lots of water to be beautiful. We saw a similar waterfall on our way home yesterday, but the water was frozen. If the pictures came out I will soon post it. Thanks for sharing this one with us.

At the first glance I thought it was an uphill road with stripes. lol I guess having less water is also not bad, cuz then we could see its rock-face more clearly. Hope you'll getta capture its beauty during the rainy season too.

By the way all that greenery surrounding the waterfall and the rock-face looks very artistic.

It's really splendid. And your way of expressing its beauty is good.

George,
Yes. I agree, it is not only water. The rock formation as well as the surrounding spice up the view.
I would like to see that frozen waterfall! :)

Anonymous,
you are most welcome and thanks for dropping by :)

Rajesh,
Yes it is certainly one of the tallest in Sri Lanka.

Harumi,
It looks like a road with the double line :)
I must go there to capture the rainy season image too..Yes this particular area is very green.

Bhavesh,
Glad you like it. :)
