Vantage Point

Here, I’m looking at the entire northern sector of Sri Lanka from a key-hole. This breathtaking scenery was captured from Maningala of Knuckles Region.

Looks like this is where I should explore next!

Rainfield,
Yes, layers of mountains are very eye-catching with different shades of colors!

Chavie,
Thanks.
Probably North! Not immediately but may be within next two months :)

George,
Definitely! I’m very excited about thinking the trip up North. I shall update all as soon as I go there.

Roentarre,
Thanks very much for your comments :)

Betsy,
Thanks :)
It is about 3000 feet above sea level, where I took the picture. Usually up north is very flat and low. The picture shows last layers of mountains of the central highlands towards north.

Rajesh,
Yes, shadows and lights add vivid colors in the mountain layers.

Thanks all for your comments!

You're going up North?!! :D That's awesome!!! Would love to read about that area! :D

Chavie,
Yep just heard that you do not need MoD clearance now. Lot of people will travel that way soon. I too think about a few places..Jaffna, Mannar etc :)

Chavie said...

Yeah, I saw that news item just a few minutes after I commented! The north's going to be awash with tourists! :D

Kirigalpoththa said...

Chavie,
It will for sure! :)

Wow.. a classic pic. Almost appear like an aerial view. And those overlapping shadows, it's the first time I've seen that many. That's a well worthy hike.

Kirigalpoththa said...

Harumi,
With a bit more altitude, I could have done something better than Google Earth :D
Yes overlapping shades of green in the mountains is quite striking..
Thanks a lot for your comments!!
