'Ganga’ is river in native language. Sri Lanka is rich with rivers and other water resources. One of the most interesting features is the high number of rivers flowing from the middle of the country and ending in the Indian Ocean like a cart wheel.
The four main rivers are Mahaweli, Kelani, Kalu and Walawe. These rivers and their tributaries flow through the most scenic areas in the island before meeting the Indian Ocean.

Ah Karawanella! Such a beautiful beautiful place! :D on a clear morning they say you can see Sri Pada from that bridge, I've never seen it though... Sri Lankan rivers have very interesting stories associated with them, I hope you're going to share a bit of that (including the one about the film shot a few km upstream from that point) ;) :)
Very beautiful island. How interesting that all the rivers flow from the enter of the island. I guess that must be the island's highest points.

You should see Sri Pada from here as it is not so far from this point. Most of sri lankan rivers have interesting stories associated with them. Think you meant the film, ‘The bridge on the River Kwai’? I will surely share more about rivers including above place :)

Yes, you are spot on! We call it central highlands. The centre of the island is mountainous and the perimeter is low lands so we get this interesting geographical feature.
