George,
I could see rubber estate elongating faraway beyond that curve.

Sumedha,
Yes, it is a well constructed road and most of the part this winding road goes through beautiful landscape.

Betchai,
Yep, it was a treat traveling along this road.

Thank all for your comments!

Hi K, I enlarged the picture --and what popped out to me was the rocks around those trees. Interesting!!!!

Wonder what is around the curve??? Are you going to show us???

It looks like they are having a parade to welcome your arrival.

I know this strech and have a pic of the same spot. But its natural beauty is destroyed by myself who is perched on a rock :D

Another corner to turn and see! unfortunately I have no much knowledge of this area! As the norm, it is a fantastic photo, showing much!

Lovely, the trees have taken shape according to the road. I love it. And the green is marvelous. Looking forward for more.

Cheers!

Beautiful picture K! There is a stretch on the A4 that looks just like that near the Leisure World park. :D

I always find the view created by the slightly bent trees in rubber estates fascinating. Nice shot.

Very beautiful forest there, very lush. I also wonder what's around that bend!

This is lovely. I was just talking to people the other night about how rubber is made. Fascinating cocktail party conversation indeed. :)

Betsy,
Yes this area has lot of small rocky outcrops all the way. I shall show you more into this area on another day :)

Rainfield,
Yes all were bowing at us too :D

Silent Moments,
Sometimes, sceneries are better when taken with people :)

Magerata,
This is the closest road to reach Rathnapura if you live South of Colombo.

Me-shak,
Yes, that is what I like when travelling across rubber estates. Also it is quite cool inside.

Chavie,
Yes, I remember that stretch. Always rubber estates give similar views. There is an even better stretch from Urapola to Ruwanwella road. Must take a photo when I go there next.

Frieda,
Thanks very much!

Thanks all for your wonderful comments!

Sachira,
Yes, I fully agree with you!
I also like the fact that they are planted in straight lines.

Al,
Usually rubber estates are quite dark inside as the trees cover sunlight quite well. Usually you feel that you are in a forest when you are in a rubber plantation.

Linnea,
Glad you like this view :) Yes, driving thro' a rubber estate is very enjoyable.

KC,
Yes, I heard that there are lot of rubber estates in Malaysia. Thabnks for dropping by and for your comments.

Anastasia,
I recently managed to see step by step process of rubber sheet preparation inside a small rubber plantation. Quite interesting.

Rajesh,
Thanks very much :)

Thanks all for your wonderful comments!

I miss those big stretches of Rubber plantations that were there around my old place at Panadura and then swallowed up by real estate developments during the past decade. Cool, shady and beautiful in their own way, they were great playgrounds for us youngsters back then. Many a time I've traveled from Panadura to Rathnapura too, your beautiful photo brought back good old memories, thank you!

Looks like a road in my hometown in Kerala. Beautiful :)

Kirigalpoththa said...

Amila,
Yes, I also remember there were more stretches like this a few years ago. Anyway we still have quite a few areas in Kaluthara, Kegalle and Rathnapura districts.

Bindhu,
Yes, Kerala and SriLanka has lot of similarities! :)
