Nice shot! Reminds me of my Aunt's place back in Thalawakele, among the tea estates.

George,
Yes it was a perfect day. Not only the waterfall but the road also was very scenic.

Sharodundu,
Not yet, This is bit too far. I had to go further up to hear the sound of cascading water :)

Natural Moments,
Glad you like this scenery. Could have got a better view had I waited till the sunset :)

Sachira,
This is also not far from Thalawakele. I might have taken photos of your aunt's estate too :D

Betsy,

Lovely...

I'd like to pop right into that pic, myself! :D

What kinds of trees are these - particularly the tall one on the left?

Silent Moments,
Glad you like it.

Loshini,
Thanks. Hope you had a good time in Kerala!

Amaris,
Good question. I also not sure on the exact variety, but I think these are shade trees planted to provide physical shade for tea during the dry weather. Same trees are pictured here as well.
Some of the varieties are mentioned here.
I shall get back to you when I get to know more about them. Thanks for your interest. :)

Again you make want to run through the tea plants. Thank you for the link to the plantation crop management. Learned a bit :)

A lovely landscape! And the name intrigued me - there is a Dunsinane in Scotland, too.

are there any more rubber trees in Sri Lanka?

Kirigalpoththa said...

Kitty,
Yes, I think someone came from Dunsinane area of Scotland must have named the tea estate here by the same name.
A few Scottish planters settled in Sri Lanka (Ceylon that time) in 1800’s. So lot of places in central highlands of Sri Lanka still has Scottish names. You can find more details in this interesting article.
Thanks for your comment.
