This dead tree was captured in Sinharaja. Two younger trees have grown taller taking its place.

I have an affinity for dead trees… They are so hopelessly romantic – or maybe that’s me. ;)
To me, dead trees are like a glimpse into the past, but they're glory never fades… it just takes on a new aspect.

I like this. You show that nature will survive, and even thrive, if it is left to do so. Plus I like this kind of picture. I try to take similar pictures myself a lot.
Bet your Woodpeckers and other birds there LOVE that dead tree... We have a dead tree on the empty lot next to our home --and love watching all of the birds digging holes in that old tree.

Dead trees are so unique and mysterious.. and this one's even more unique cause of its height. Beautiful capture showing death between life.
PS: This dead tree kinda looks like a scary grizzly bear turned into a super tall zombie. O__o

How much I like to know what kind of critters are working at the old trunk. That dead tree is a mini echo system in its own right, and must be a very active one too.
