Motor Bus Halting Place

This bus stop signpost was seen by the side of Beragala – Wellawaya Road. I can’t remember the time people used the word ‘motor bus’, so this signpost must be one of the oldest of that kind.

Oh, I love it. I love old signs, absurd signs, etc. This is great.

Then will it disappear soon as a piece of antique in people's collection?

wow, a real antiquated signboard K! must be really really old. It doesn't even have the picture of a bus on it... :S

Aren't old signs fun to read, K????? In this country, years ago, we used to call Gasoline Service Stations "Filling" Staions... I guess that made sense since you 'filled' your car with gasoline.... ha

Anastasia,
Absurd signs - You can find a lot in Sri Lanka. Especially spelling mistakes :)

Rainfield,
Hope not. would like to see it remain by the side of the road :)

Chavie,
Yep must be atleast 50 years. If it had a bus picture we could have assume the time period

Sumedha,
Yep, we saw it by chance, infact saw two of them on the same road.

Betsy,
They really fun to read. We sometime use the word filling station here in Sri Lanka. :)

SloganMurugan,
Think they painted it recently. That is why it has a bright look. Dunno what they use those days :)

Thanks all for your comments!
