Sea and Lagoon

This picture was taken from the top of Panama sand dunes.

The southern side of the beach is very broad as shown here. But near the lagoon it becomes a very thin stretch of beach. The lagoon and the sea are divided by this thin sand strip. Just note the different shades of blue – Bright blue sea and murkier lagoon.

The view here is quite striking!

That is a beautiful pic K... The arching bay and the narrow spit of beach... :) Kinda reminds me of the small lagoon they had near the Yala Safari hotel... but they didn't have a bay and this is much larger lagoon-mouth...

Can't believe it's the same salt water that looks so different in color, murky blue vs. turquoise.. And counting the sky with its sky blue, there's 3 blues (I mean blue hues) in the pic. =D

A very scenic pic. Thanks for sharing. ^__^

Chavie,
Yes, I remember going to Yala safari in 2001 or 2002. It is a very remote place and a wonderful beach to enjoy nature. As you said the difference here is the small bay. It is a pity what happened to Yala Safri during the Tsunami Day.

Harumi,
Wow! You should have written this post instead of me. In fact I too did not notice the 3rd hue of the sky.

Rainfield61,
Yes, Harumi’s description is spot on :)

Betchai,
Yes it was a perfect day for outdoors. The blue water and the sky - indeed they looks very inviting

Thanks all for your wonderful comments!

Yes, that was indeed a tragedy... it was such a simple yet wonderfully located hotel... :)

@ Rainfield: Thanks. =D

@ KGP: No way! I don't have the knowledge or experience you possess from all those excursions and hikes.. ne? =D

It's just a habit I got from studying Art for my O/Ls. We were taught to observe the nuances of colors. =D

Guess you had a good art teacher. Most cases we were in the grounds during art period :)

What a beautiful scene and what a contrast between the sea and the lagoon.

Kirigalpoththa said...

George,
Yes, that contrast adds more beauty to the scenery. Thanks a lot for your comments!
