Kukule Ganga
Kukule Ganga is an exciting area for an adventurer. There are many different places to see along the river and its close proximity. There are waterfalls like Makeliya Ella, Caves like Pahiyan Lena (Fa Hien) in addition to the picturesque river itself. The picture above and a few more were taken near the suspension bridge at Kosgulana.
A traveler could reach Kukule Ganga via many attractive routes. Kalutara - Mathugama Road, Horana - Bulathsinghala Road and Ratnapuara - Kalawana Road are some of them.

lovely pic K! :) Kukule ganga is so close to Colombo, and we visit Rathnapura quite often, but I've never been to Kukule ganga! My father once went there to the power plant when they were building it though. Would love to go there one day myself... :)
Thanks for the post!
The water goes into the distance and the landscape is simply incredible
Nice scenery and very informative post. There were some names I wasn't familiar with. Guess there's lot more to learn about Lanka, than what we've learned from schools. =D
Thanks for sharing.. ^__^
Sri Lanka must be a very beautiful Island. I like your photos including the suspension bridge.
Muchísimas gracias por tus comentarios en "Panorámica Cazorlense".
De igual forma te felicito por tu blog, y paso a ser parte de tus favoritos.
Un cordial saludo.
Nice post. Never heard about this place earlier. Good to know about new destinations.
Chavie,
It is much closer than Rathnapura. You have to turn from Horana towards Bulathsinhala. Think that road is the closest for you. Kauthara - Mathugama Road also a good option. I have not visited the power plant. Must be a good experience!
Roentarre,
Yes landscape is quite scenic in this area. Thanks for visiting my blog and you have an awesome collection of pictures in your blogs!
Harumi,
Which name is unfamiliar? Think the correct spelling of Pahiyan should be either Fa Xian or Fa Hien or Fa Hsien as the cave is dedicated for the famous Chinese monk of the 5th century AD.
Reinfeld,
Sri Lanka is a paradise for a nature lover. I saw your blog and thought it is a wonderful place to know about the beauty of Malaysia!

Thanks all from all over the world for your wonderful comments!
One of my friends lives in Agalawatte, and he invited me to come over sometime. Should make it a point to visit all the attractions in the area when I visit! :D
Yep, I've watched documentaries about that cave many times on TV, sometime back. =D
And ya, that's 'Fa-hien' I think the way I've heard it's been pronounced and so says Wiki, in this article about 'Fa-hien lena'.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fa_Hien_Cave
But the ones I mentioned as unfamiliar were - Makeli Ella and Kosgulana. =D
Chavie,
It is very close from Agalawatta. You could see Makeli ella and even Fa Hien cave when you go there:)
Harumi,
I'll bring some information about Makeli Ella soon. Thanks for information, I think I should spell it as Fa Hien :)
