Towards Pallegama

When you travel along Raththota - Pallegama road the highest point is known as Riverston. This area is quite cool due to high altitude and the mountains are misty most of the time. When you pass this spot, the road starts to descend towards Pallegama.

There is a particular place just after Riverston, where you can see a panoramic view of Knuckles region and beyond. This picture was taken from there and it is one of my favourite places in Sri Lanka.

Loshini,
No white part is not clouds..but the sky. The murky parts are rain clouds.

One of my favorite places too!
There's a place there, which they call "Small World's End"... Wonderful place to be.. only second to being at the grand canyons...

It's such an amazingly green and beautiful country.
Those mountains remind me of Korea. It was always misty there - and sooo green :)

Beautiful view! I love the "grey-ness" - it's so comforting.

This area looks very similar to a region in central Brazil, in the state of Goiás. I will have to get a post together [soon] to show you. :)

Rainfield,
This was taken in the morning. The rain didn't come till late evening but it was like this whole day.

Chavie,
Glad you've been there at least once..,but you have to go there again :)

බිඟුවා,
එතන අඩ 4000ක් විතර උස හින්දා ටිකක් සීතලයි..

George,
You can see many layers of mountain ridges from this place.. till the horizon.

Mahasen,
Yep I have been to this ‘small world’s end’, situated next to Pitawala Pathana. Amazing place! You can see a vast area from that point.

Nicole,
Really? I have never been to Korea but must be a beautiful place to visit.

Amaris,
Please post one or two photos of this place in Brazil. It must be a fabulous place. I love to see it :)

Thanks all for your wonderful comments!

Anonymous,
Thanks for dropping by and for your comments.

The entire layout was done after series of changes in the html code. (To be precise ..using CSS-Cascading Style Sheets)

The menu bar was designed thanks to Blogger Sentral.

Drop an email to kirigalpoththa@yahoo.com if you want the entire code. It is too big and cannot show up here :)

Are there numerous languages spoken in Sri Lanka?

Kirigalpoththa said...

Natural Moments,
There are three languages in Sri Lanka,
English, Sinhala and Tamil. Sinhala & Tamil are native languages and English is a linking language.
