Bambarakiri Ella

This waterfall is situated in a very attractive location in Raththota area, pass Matale. You can reach here via Raththota – Pallegama Road.

There are two waterfalls (Maha Bamabarakiri Ella and Punchi Bambarakiri Ella) in the same location and the larger fall is shown in the photo. There is a small suspension bridge built in front of the waterfall to walk across the stream. You can view more photos of this beautiful waterfall, here.

I can't imagine a better combination than a beautiful waterfall and a suspension bridge leading to it. Those other photos are equally nice. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.

wow, that's an interesting set of pictures K... but I do wonder what the concrete blocks on the waterfall are? :S

There is calmness after rushing water. That feeling is good.

Sunny,
Thanks for your comments!

Michelle,
I will upload pictures of suspension bridge soon :)

Chavie,
Good observation. I too not sure on the exact purpose but those blocks have damaged the natural beauty of the location.
Initially I thought somebody has planned the bridge over that point. Also these can be remainder of a badly planned irrigation scheme or micro hydro plant. Just my assumptions only :)

Prospero,
Thanks for your compliments!

Bikim,
Thanks for your compliments! My photography is not that good… but the sceneries really makes me an above average photographer :)

Rainfield,
Agree with you. The splendor of a waterfall lies on the change of speed of water at different levels.

Linnea W,
Looks like that but I did not want to try that :) May be the slope is bit too much

J Bar,
Thanks :)

Thanks Salitype :)

I agree with you a 100%, the blocks seem to serve no purpose but to destroy nature's beauty... :|

Kirigalpoththa said...

Chavie,
Only purpose is you can climb on to those and take a picture ;)
But that is an awful reason to damage the natural beauty..

I can almost hear the rushing water. I like the path the water takes rushing down the hill. Nice capture.
