View from the Lipton’s Seat
The above picture was taken from Lipton’s Seat. I shared some of the information about this place a few months ago.
This area belongs to Dambethenna of Poonagala Hills. These hills are unique as they are overlooking the entire Uva Basin. Hence there are many viewing points in the Poonagala Mountain Range like Lipton Seat. Millennium Point, St. Catherine’s Seat (Nayabedda) and Pilkington’s Point are some of the other viewing points in the same region.
The view from Lipton’s Seat is simply amazing and you can see endless territory till the horizon.

very true, it's always amazing to look down from the top, the view is inspiring.
what a gorgeous view. i could easily lose track of time, there, writing and photographing. thanks for sharing such beauty. have a great weekend.
That truly is one amazing and breathtaking view!
WOW!
GORGEOUS ! Such humbling beauty ! If only all of Lankan could be so pristine...
The landscape is really amazing.
amazing view K! Out of the four you've described, I've only seen Lipton's Seat... but I think I saw a TV programme on 'Millennium Point' once... maybe on 'Sarisara'... :)
I love the way u capture the mist! =)
This area has some stunning vantage points and believe it or not, even a few wild elephants who roam the lower reaches of the Poonagalla Valley
Wow.. Lanka sure is blessed with heavenly scenery. I see it almost like another World's End, with that vast tract of lowlands spanning till the horizon. Reminds me of the view of Tantirimale, but this one is more splendid cuz of the sheer height.
By the way how high is this place?
The view is absolutely stunning. I like the way you captured those wispy clouds below you. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Betsy,
You are most welcome! :)
Betchai,
Yep, you get superb feeling when you see such vast land below you..
Michelle,
Yes, I too didnt have enough time to capture all that beauty there! The time is simply not enough :)
Nicole,
Yep it is really stunning view!
Mommythecook,
I always like Uva basin. It is such a beautiul region!
Rainfield,
Yep, it is really beautiful landscape.
Chavie,
I too want to cover all four or whatever number there. I'm sure they all are as beautiful as the Lipton's seat.
Gadgetgirl,
There is always a good chance of capturing mist from this point.
Sigma,
Really! I yet to see an elephant in that area but surely they must be roaming around in that area.
Harumi,
Surely this point is not as high as World's end but the view is even more stunning. On a clearer day it would have been even better. To my estimate this must be around 4500 feet high as Haputale also in the same level.
George,
You are welcome and those clouds really make the picture more beautiful!
Thanks all for your comments!
It's mystical! Breathtaking!
Bonnie Bonsai,

Yep, you can see far faraway from here, so you need a high resolution image to see into details.
