I climbed this rather small hill in Kukulnape village near Pallewela in the Western Province. I reached here by turning towards Meerigama at Pasyala Junction on the Kandy Road.
The climb is less than 200 feet and took only about 30-45 minutes but the view was very rewarding. I saw the entire Gampaha district from here and perhaps even more. The Gampaha town can be seen faraway in the centre of the scenery.

Lot of people think that you have to travel a long way to enjoy hiking and nature. I took just over 1 hour drive from Colombo.
The climb took just a little more than 30 minutes.
But the view was superb. We found two little caves on the way and that was our shelter during a small shower..Great experience!! Especially for the two kids who accompanied us !!!

Great view! I saw that you found a few caves - are there many there in your area? Have you photographed any? I'd love to see them, if so. In my home state, we have many caves - some immense. I love exploring caves - safely. ;)

Great to hear that, there are caves in your home state too.
My hometown area also quite popular for caves. Most are smaller or medium size caves. There are folklore and legends related to those caves, that makes visiting them even more interesting.. Some are mentioned as hiding places of ancient kings who were in exile.
I have shown the full set of pictures in the hike to Muthukiranagala in here. Caves are also shown there. They are infact quite small in size.
