I don't know how you could get those nice pictures of the sunrise in Arugam Bay. I was there twice but did not see any sunrise. The most beautiful I have experienced so far was on the east coast of Zanzibar, in Bwejuu.
I took those pictures in early Feb 09 using a basic digital camera - Canon PowerShot A460.
One of my My friend had a superior camera and his photos were better than mine. He used long exposure times etc.
There can be a slight change in the time and direction of the sunrise at different days of the year. But in tropics this difference is minimal.
We were on the beach whole night in a tent. Infact we got up around 430am and was out in the beach since then. I guess thats why we got the best of the scenery..
I have seen a few pictures of beautiful beaches in Bwejuu. Thanks for sharing your experience :)
