Flowers along the Kandy Road

Colombo - Kandy road is one of the busiest roads in Sri Lanka.

During certain times of the year when you pass Kalagedihena area you will see a beautiful sight along this road amidst heavy traffic.

These trees are known as 'Tabebuia' and usually they bloom in February - March period.

You are welcome! You are lucky to have a tree like that close by!

Infact, Im still looking for the local name. :)
Tabebuia is more less the botanical name. There are quite a lot of 'tabebuia' species. Similar but different colours of flowers

Kandy road is busy and the traffic distracts you from the surrouding beauty most of the time. It is really nice to notice the little things.

@ Anonymous,

Those little things keep us alive from our busy but stale everyday schedules :)

Icy BC,
They are quite tall and we could see them either side of the main road. When in full bloom roads are quite a sight to behold!
