Oruthota is situated about 20km from the hill capital, Kandy on the Mahiyangana Road (A26).
Orutota Bridge is a popular landmark, where the road goes over Hulu Ganga, one of the main tributaries of Mahaweli Ganga (River Mahaweli).
The view over the bridge is picturesque. The river is quite wide here and it grows wider as it flows to Victoria Reservoir.

Great perspective shot; the river just leads the viewer's eyes all the way to the mountains in the background. I like the different shades of blue of the mountains in the background. I also like the rocks in the river.
