This picture was taken from Lower Ohiya. I had an interesting stay there for few days and managed to find out one of the shortest path to Horton Plains from A4 road via Udaveriya Estate.

Hi KP you manage to surprise us every time. What a beautiful work. Thank you. I went to the Horton Plains and I am certain, I took the road your friend Anjana posted a photo of. I like the Udaveriya Estate but it was enveloped in mist most of the time while we were there. I was also pleased to have found "Glasgow", "Glenanore", "Sandringham" and a few others, I liked the tea from Udaveriya the best.

Actually I was kept out of hiking for some time due to work. That is why my frequency of posting has reduced last few months. Anyway won't be like this for long :)

We were infact staying in one side of a slope of the mountain and the sun was totally covered from the ridge. We saw the sunrays emanating from the east and it took more time to see the sun clearly above the ridge.

I think you have gone to Udaveriya via Bambarakanda falls. That is the only road that goes up to Udaveriya. The road Anjana has shown ends in the mid way and next half you have to walk up the mountain. It was an interesting track for me as the foot path was not very clear and we had some anxious moments finding our way out in the mountains.
Yes Udaveriya Tea is great and you are sure to find some familiar British names found in the tea country of SL.
