this is a really nice panorama. i enjoyed looking at your other pictures too. that big white thing in one picture looks like a bell to me. what is it? have a great day.
Steven D!, Greetings from Sri Lanka!, Yep that was a never ending view..
Michelle, That big white thing in one picture does look like a bell! It is called a Chethiya, stupa or Dagobo and it is a sacred place of worship found in any Buddhist temple. This particular dagabo is made like a bell! You can find more details of Sri Lankan dagabos in this post by Harumi.
Rainfield, Yes I did not attach the original picture which is about 4MB; still this resized image shows a lot of details.
Harumi, I would be able to give some details about Thanthirimale soon. Yes, the view is very similar to Thanthirimale.
Chavie, The fields look very nice from there. I particularly like this picture with fields + ‘wewa’
James, It is a beautiful area, but this particular place lies about 250km away from where I live :)
Clo, Yep the horizon look infinite…:)
Álvaro, Yep that was taken in the hillcountry and completely different climate and geography.
Pierre, Yep I could not do a bike trip there but as you said it would be a very good ride. In fact I wanted to go there, after seeing one of your posts on the same place some time back :)
Betsy, Yep, it is a fascinating view from there. You really get that wow feeling :)
Sunny, Yep, it is miles and miles of never ending view :)
NicoleB, The country is not that big..I would say medium size island! But there are many places like this where you can see a good half of the entire country :)
Betchai, Definitely you can do panorama pictures here. I must learn that sometime :)
Gallicissa, You will love the view and this peaceful surrounding for sure!
George, Yep, I too like that picture. I shall bring you more photos of this area soon!
WOW! What a wonderful panorama with a never ending view. An excellent shot.
